When we bought a plot of land in 2007 we first looked on the Internet and we came up with two building contractors: Goldewijk and Livingstone. Livingstone was chosen due to the lower quoted price. That was until we wanted to make some changes to the standard plans, and were unpleasantly surprised with a much higher quotation. That in itself was not so strange but our subsequent dealings with Livingstone made us decide to choose a local building contractor. In the 6 month period with Livingstone we had to deal with 3 different people and unclear lines of communication, which we did not find pleasant at all.

With Aad van Marrewijk you to deal with an contractor who never fails to return a call and always honours his commitments. Aad’s father did the construction himself and Aad discussed and guided us through the thinking process, intervening when he thought necessary. It was our first newly built house and we feel that it has turned out great.

I am also convinced that you would end up paying the same price for our house as a house built by Livingstone or the like.  It makes sense that the price of a standard Livingstone house will turn out cheaper, but as soon as you want to make any modifications it is better to choose BBAVM as you would be financially better off and Aad will think with you to come up with the best solutions.
